Hhontjulf Fire-Mane is a Nord Hunter and the titular Nord of the Thieves Guild quest, When the Nord's Away.... He is away on a hunting trip during the time of your arrival in Old Ebonheart, and has left his house (and valuable boots) unguarded, but for a particularly vicious dog.

As with many adventuring Nords, an encounter with a witch has left him severely underdressed.
