Notes[edit]

  • The randomly encountered treasure hunters in Skyrim will always spawn dead. However, they might spawn standing upright and then fall over when you approach close enough.
  • The note that the Skyrim treasure hunters carry name the boss of a location; sometimes this is a generic enemy (such as a Draugr or bandit), and sometimes this is a named enemy (like Volsung or Isobel). If it is a named enemy, the note becomes grammatically incorrect, stating that the treasure in question is "guarded by a Volsung".
  • It is possible to read the note while it is on the body of the treasure hunter and get the information on where the loot is, as picking up the note and reading it then causes a miscellaneous quest to be stuck in your log and the note to be classified as a quest item (meaning you can't remove it from your inventory) until you go to the location and get the item. This can also block getting "retrieval" quests from NPCs, as you can only have one of these types of quests active at a time. The notes also only reference enchanted weapons; the notes will never point towards unenchanted gear.
