Quest-Related Events[edit]
Onward to Shadowfen[edit]
You will first encounter him outside of Mournhold after defeating Vox and taking the portal back to the city:
- "Excuse me, celebrated hero. Could you spare a few minutes for a poor agent of the Pact?"
Hearing him out:
- "Good day, hero of Mournhold and Deshaan! I hate to interrupt your victory, but I'm here to request your assistance."
- What do you need?
- "Dark times befall Shadowfen; dark times indeed.
Murders and disappearances in Stormhold, and the vicecanons can't find a culprit." - Why can't Stormhold's guards find the murderer?
- "The Vicecanons need an outside party to help due to certain ... political complications. Vicecanon Hrondar expects me to send help."
- I'll do what I can.
You can then ask him more questions.
- "Head south from here. Once you run out of good, dry land go a bit further and you'll hit Stormhold.
Locate Vicecanon Hrondar there; he'll direct you." - What can you tell me about Stormhold?
- "I could tell you where to find the only decent meal in town, but that's probably not what you meant.
What do you want to know?"- What can you tell me about the vicecanons?
- "War heroes from the Akaviri war. Strong leaders. Honorable to the last. A good thing too since Shadowfen's troubled by its past.
My people kept Argonian slaves within living memory, and that's not a wound to quickly heal."

- Anything else you can tell me about the disappearances?
- "Not much, sadly. It's mostly Argonians missing. Some think slavers are to blame.
If that's true, the Pact may not survive such discord."

- What is Stormhold like? (Appears if you ask any of the first questions)
- "It's a Dunmer city, built on an Argonian village, built on an Ayleid ruin. Confusing, like much of Shadowfen.
Consider it a last bastion of civilization before Black Marsh. Everything south of Stormhold is lizards and mud."

Bound to the Bog[edit]
After you decide what to do with the goblin totem in Mud Tree Village, Ganthis will be at the forge. He is one of the quest starters for this quest. When approached, he will either say:
- "Could you spare a moment?"
- "I'm supposed to find help here?"
He needs you to provide help to Gerent Saervild at the Bogmother ruins:
- "Is this the best place to recruit extra hands outside Stormhold? Unbelievable. It's a pit.
After this, I go to Bogmother. As if the mother of bogs is a place I want to be." - Why are you recruiting?
- "The Pact needs help. The vicecanons, more specially. Vicecanon Hrondar, to be completely specific.
- Actually we need his gerent, Saervild. He's in charge of an expedition to recover Argonian relics from the Bogmother ruins."
- And he needs help?
- "I guess. Why else would I be recruiting? The ruins are said to be infested with beasts of some type. I'm sure they'll pay for swords, and that will serve the good of the Pact.
- You're a loyal citizen of the Pact, aren't you?"
- I'll lend Saervild a hand.
You can speak to him afterwards.
- "Don't wait for me. I'll be along shortly.
I have some supplies to scrounge up; shovels, food, that sort of stuff. The little of a quartermaster is an exciting one."
When you reach the camp where Saervild is stationed, you can find him kneeling in a pool of mud:
- "What took you so long? As you can see, I've gotten…well, bogged down.
Go talk to Saervild while I extricate myself."
If Bound to the Bog is not active:
- "I'm going to die and rot in this swampy grave. No hope.
I can't even get a dry pair of socks! Can't a soul die in a dry pair of socks?"
After the quest:
- "My assignments keep getting worse and worse."
