Disease Damage is a type of physical damage. It is somewhat rare, mostly only being seen on some of the Nightblade and Necromancer skills' morphs, or when attacked by Zombies and their ilk. Can cause the Status Effect Diseased, which inflicts the Minor Defile debuff for 4 seconds, decreasing their healing received by 8%.

Ravage an enemy with a spinning attack, dealing 10164 Magic Damage and increasing your damage against them by 20% for 8 seconds. Also afflicts the enemy with Major Defile, reducing their healing received and damage shield strength by 12%. While slotted on either bar, any time you kill an enemy you gain [7 / 8 / 9 / 10] Ultimate.

Morph ON-icon-skill-Assassination-Killer's Blade.png Killer's Blade Converts into a Stamina ability, deals Disease Damage, and now scales linearly based on missing Health rather than a flat value. Also heals you if the target dies within two seconds of use.
Cost: 2066 Stamina.
Thrust a caustic blade with lethal precision to stab an enemy, dealing 3176 Disease Damage. Deals up to 400% more damage to enemies with less than 50% Health. Heals you for [6351 / 6421 / 6491 / 6561] if the enemy dies within 2 seconds of being struck.

Throw a magic blade with lethal precision to strike an enemy, dealing 3176 Magic Damage. Deals 330% more damage to enemies below 25% Health.

When at full stacks, you can consume them all to fire a spectral arrow to deal [11068 / 11189 / 11310 / 11433] Magic Damage, and heal for 33% of the damage dealt if you are within melee range.
Morph ON-icon-skill-Assassination-Relentless Focus.png Relentless Focus Converts into a Stamina ability and deals Disease Damage. Increases the amount of Weapon and Spell Damage each stack grants, and reduces the cost.
Cost: 1377 Stamina.
When slotted on either bar, you focus with lethal intent, causing your Light and Heavy Attacks to generate a stack of Relentless Focus, increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage by [65 / 70 / 75 / 80] up to 5 times. Fully-charged Heavy Attacks grant two stacks. When at full stacks, you can consume them all to fire a spectral arrow to deal 11434 Disease Damage, and heal for 33% of the damage dealt if you are within melee range.

When slotted on either bar, you focus with lethal intent, causing your Light and Heavy Attacks to generate a stack of Merciless Resolve, increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage by 60 up to 5 times. Fully-charged Heavy Attacks grant two stacks. When at full stacks, you can consume them all to fire a spectral arrow to deal [12579 / 12716 / 12855 / 12994] Magic Damage, and heal for 50% of the damage dealt if you are within melee range.

Siphon the vigor from your enemies' blood, dealing 4766 Disease Damage to all nearby enemies. If an enemy is hit you gain Major Brutality and Sorcery, and Minor Courage increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage by 20% and 215 for 30 seconds. Enemies hit have Minor Cowardice applied to them for [7 / 8 / 9 / 10] seconds, reducing their Weapon and Spell Damage by 215.
ON-icon-skill-Siphoning-Sap Essence.png Sap Essence Also heals you and your allies. Heal is stronger for each enemy hit.
Siphon the vigor from your enemies' blood, dealing 4766 Magic Damage to all nearby enemies and healing you and your allies for [1588 / 1606 / 1624 / 1640] plus 20% more for each enemy hit. If an enemy is hit, you gain Major Brutality and Sorcery, increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage by 20% for 30 seconds.

Dealing damage applies Major Vulnerability to any enemy hit for 12 seconds, increasing their damage taken by 10%.
Morph ON-icon-skill-Grave Lord-Pestilent Colossus.png Pestilent Colossus Deals Disease Damage. The Colossus deals more damage with each smash and always applies the Diseased status effect.
CRIMINAL ACT Unleash a pestilent Flesh Colossus to pulverize enemies in the area. The Colossus smashes the ground three times over 3 seconds, dealing [8470 / 8563 / 8656 / 8750], [8892 / 8989 / 9087 / 9185], and [9336 / 9439 / 9540 / 9645] Disease Damage with the first, second, and third smash. Dealing damage applies the Diseased status effect and Major Vulnerability to any enemy hit for 12 seconds, increasing their damage taken by 10%.

CRIMINAL ACT Unleash a frostbitten Flesh Colossus to pulverize enemies in the area. The Colossus smashes the ground three times over 3 seconds, dealing 8470 Frost Damage with each smash. The final smash stuns all enemies hit for [3 / 3.3 / 3.7 / 4] seconds. Dealing damage applies Major Vulnerability to any enemy hit for 17 seconds, increasing their damage taken by 10%.

The skeleton leaps to you, sacrificing the fallen soul within and enhancing your necromantic energies for [7 / 8 / 9 / 10] seconds, increasing your damage done with class abilities and damage over time effects by 15%. Creates a corpse on death if you are in combat.
Morph ON-icon-skill-Grave Lord-Blighted Blastbones.png Blighted Blastbones Converts into a Stamina ability that deals Disease Damage to enemies instead of empowering you. Applies Major Defile and the Diseased status effect to enemies hit.
Cost: 1836 Stamina, Duration: 8 seconds, Area: 6 meters, Range: 28 meters, Target: Enemy.
CRIMINAL ACT Summon a decaying skeleton from the ground after 2.5 seconds. The skeleton runs after the target and explodes when it gets close to them, dealing [9529 / 9634 / 9739 / 9844] Disease Damage to all enemies nearby and applying the Diseased status effect and Major Defile to them for 4 seconds, reducing their healing received and damage shield strength by 12%. Creates a corpse on death.
ON-icon-skill-Grave Lord-Grave Lord's Sacrifice.png Grave Lord's Sacrifice Increases the duration. While active, your third Flame Skull deals damage in an area and creates a corpse.
Duration: [17 / 18 / 19 / 20] seconds.
CRIMINAL ACT Summon a skeleton from the ground after 2.5 seconds. The skeleton leaps to you, sacrificing the fallen soul within and mastering your necromantic energies for [17 / 18 / 19 / 20] seconds, increasing your damage done with class abilities and damage over time effects by 15%. While active, your third cast of Flame Skull damages in an area and creates a corpse near the enemy. Creates a corpse on death if you are in combat.

You also gain Major Savagery and Prophecy for 20 seconds, increasing your Weapon Critical and Spell Critical rating by 2629. While slotted, your damage done is increased by 3%.
Morph ON-icon-skill-Grave Lord-Detonating Siphon.png Detonating Siphon Ability now deals Disease Damage. The corpse explodes at the end of the siphon, dealing additional damage.
Violently drain the last spark of life from a corpse, dealing 16870 Disease Damage over 20 seconds to all enemies around the corpse and between you and the corpse. You also gain Major Savagery and Prophecy for 20 seconds, increasing your Weapon Critical and Spell Critical rating by 2629. When the siphon ends the corpse explodes, dealing an additional [4766 / 4818 / 4870 / 4923] Disease Damage to all enemies nearby. While slotted, your damage done is increased by 3%.

Morph ON-icon-skill-Werewolf-Claws of Anguish.png Claws of Anguish Afflicts enemies with Major Defile and each tick now also applies the Diseased status effect.
CRIMINAL ACT Shred enemies in front of you with your tainted claws, dealing 5953 Disease Damage and an additional 9913 Disease Damage over 20 seconds. Afflicts enemies with Major Defile for [2 / 2.7 / 3.3 / 4] seconds, reducing their healing received and damage shield strength by 12%. Enemies hit by any part of the ability are afflicted with the Diseased status effect.

CRIMINAL ACT Shred enemies in front of you with your tainted claws, dealing [5953 / 6019 / 6084 / 6150] Disease Damage and an additional 9913 Disease Damage over 20 seconds. You are healed for [63 / 64 / 65 / 66]% of the damage over time caused. Enemies hit by the initial hit are afflicted with the Diseased status effect.

Sets[edit]

The following sets either cause or synergize with Disease Damage:

Set Weight 5 piece bonus
Affliction Heavy When you deal damage, you deal 428 Disease damage to the target. This damage immediately applies the Diseased status effect, applying Minor Defile to the target, reducing their Healing Received and Health Recovery by 8% for 4 seconds. This set can occur once every 4 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Azureblight Reaper Medium When you deal damage with a damage over time effect, you apply a stack of Blight Seed to your target for 5 seconds. At 20 stacks, the Blight Seed explodes, dealing 2268 Disease Damage to the target and nearby enemies, scaling off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.

An enemy can only have one instance of Blight Seed at a time. An enemy that has reached 20 stacks cannot be infected with Blight Seed for 2 seconds.

Caluurion's Legacy Light When you deal direct Critical Damage with a single target attack, you launch a projectile at your target that deals 2674 Flame, 2674 Frost, 2674 Shock, or 2674 Disease damage and applies the respective status effect. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Deadly Strike Medium Increase the damage your Physical, Bleed, Poison, and Disease damage over time and channeled abilities do by 20%.
Lady Thorn Any Casting an ability that costs Health spawns a blood ball for 10 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds.

You or an ally near the blood ball can activate the Sanguine Burst synergy, dealing 2879 Disease damage to nearby enemies and applying Major Maim for 8 seconds, decreasing their damage done by 10%. Enemies can only receive Major Maim from Sanguine Burst once every 20 seconds. The damage scales off the synergy activator's Max Health.

Legacy of Karth Any Enemies affected by your alchemic poisons take 371 Disease Damage every 1 second. This effect scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
Maarselok Any When you deal damage with a melee Heavy Attack, you spew a cone of corruption, dealing 1492 Disease damage to enemies over 4 seconds. This damage is increased by 2% for each negative effect the enemies have. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds and scales off your Weapon Damage.
Swamp Raider Medium Adds 13-600 Weapon Damage to your Poison and Disease Damage abilities.
The Morag Tong Medium When you deal direct damage, you cause the enemy to take 10% more damage from Poison and Disease attacks for 5 seconds.
Thurvokun Any When you take damage from a nearby enemy, you summon a growing pool of desecrated bile for 8 seconds. Enemies in the bile take 195 Disease damage every 1 second and are afflicted with Minor Maim and the Diseased status for 4 seconds, reducing their damage done by 5% and healing received and Health Recovery by 8%. This effect can occur every 16 seconds and the damage scales off your Max Health.
Velidreth Any When you deal damage, you have a 20% chance to spawn 3 disease spores in front of you after 1 second that deal 2429 Disease damage to the first enemy they hit. This effect can occur once every 8 seconds and scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.

Defense[edit]

There are several ways of protecting yourself against Disease Damage.

  • Argonian characters have access to the Argonian Resistance passive skill, which reduces all Disease Damage received.
  • Wood Elf characters have access to the Resist Affliction passive skill, which reduces all Disease Damage received.
  • A Glyph of Disease Resist, created with a Haoko Essence rune and a negative Potency rune, can be applied to jewelry.
  • Hardy in the Staving Death subconstellation of Warfare reduces Disease Damage taken.
