Dawnguard[edit]
Reference 8 attempts to indicate that the Dawnguard quest line resulted in the recovery of the Elder Scrolls that disappeared from the Imperial Library. This is partially false because Serena and her Elder Scroll were imprisoned sometime at end of the First Era/Start of the 2nd so the scroll she carried was likely never housed in the Imperial Library. Additionally, this reference is misleading because at best only 3 Elder Scrolls are uncovered during Skyrim (1 of which doubles for both the main quest and Dawnguard). Hundreds of scrolls disappeared from the Imperial Library so a "recovery" of three would not constitute the Elder Scrolls being found again.— Unsigned comment by 72.209.2.76 (talk) at 17:59 on 22 January 2014
- You're absolutely right. Plus, the player has discretion on what to do with the scrolls, so it can't be considered canon yet that they sold them to Dexion rather than Urag gro-Shub or just keeping them. -- Hargrimm(T) 18:34, 22 January 2014 (GMT)
- I agree. I initially tried to remove this part about a year ago, but it was reverted so I had to settle on the "found" wording tweak. While I agree that the scrolls are uncountable in nature and may disappear from one location and appear in another, I felt the word "recovered" was too speculative - Serana's scroll might have disappeared while she was entombed in Dimhollow and found its way to the Imperial Library... then disappeared again and returned to Serana's tomb - but we would be wildly guessing . I didn't consider the excellent point Hargrimm makes about them possibly being sold to either Dexion or Urag. --Jimeee (talk) 12:26, 23 January 2014 (GMT)
Loranna Moths[edit]
I brought back the removed Loranna RP information. I believe their presence here does more good than harm. Tyrvarion (talk) 14:28, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- Given "Libromancers" is entirely a UOL term, it shouldn't really be used in the intro paragraph as an alternative name alongside the official names. I have no problem with the UOL information that is in the Notes sections though. Also, Pheonix was correct in that new UOL should technically be talkpaged first per UESPWiki:Lore#References_in_Lore. --Jimeee (talk) 16:41, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- "UOL should only be used when it helps to explain in-game content" is true in this case as the Cult of the Ancestor Moth is in-game. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 21:44, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
