Heroes of Tamriel set in Fortnite
PC/Console
Release Date
September 26, 2017

Fortnite is a online video game developed by Epic Games. It is known for its popular Battle Royale gamemode released on September 26, 2017, where 100 players fight to the death until only one player or group remains. Coinciding with an Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom promotion where the base game was given away for free from July 20th to July 27th, 2023, several cosmetic items were added during Chapter 4: Season 3 as part of the Heroes of Tamriel Set, primarily themed after the Nord Hero from the cinematic trailers.

Synopsis[edit]

The setting of Fortnite's Battle Royale is a universe known as "Reality Zero", dominated by an ever-changing large island home to the Zero Point, the nexus from which all existence emerged. Periodically, rifts between this universe and other realities results in a variety of characters, items, and even locations being transported to the island.

Chapter 4[edit]

With the destruction of Artemis/Apollo island and only the Zero Point remaining, Paradigm and AMIE activated Zero Fusion to fuse parts of the island together forming most of Asteria, with Brutal Bastion brought in from a snowy mountainous dimension much like Skyrim.[3] The Bastion is the home of the Reality Warriors, a mysterious group with whom the Seven shared the designs of their sanctuaries with.[4] The Nord warrior would later be brought to the eternal battleground of Asteria, much to the surprise of the loopers of Reality Zero. He battled over Brutal Bastion, fighting for the honor of the Ebonheart Pact and, indeed, all of Tamriel.[2]

Notes[edit]

  • The items were originally encrypted under the "Folk Evening" codename from Patch v25.11 on June 27, 2023.[5]
  • If you purchase the Ebonheart Battleaxe from the Item Shop and then later purchase The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom from the Epic Games Store, you will automatically be refunded 1,200 V-Bucks.
    • The Ebonheart Battleaxe Back Bling acts as a sheath for the Pickaxe, hence its ID of Backpack_FolkEveningSheath. The Pickaxe version looks significantly more worn down compared to the much cleaner Back Bling, with context given by the item's description that this is due to its combat usage in Cyrodiil.
  • The Nord Warrior is titled a "Character" instead of an "Outfit", though it is not yet an NPC and for all intents and purposes is functionally an outfit. He is also not referred to as the "Nord Hero" despite that being his primary name in promotional material.
  • The Sigil of the Alliance War is a moving back bling based off the Ouroboros logo of the game. There was a bug where if you claim The Elder Scrolls Online a second time after obtaining Sigil of the Alliance War, you would instead receive 300 V-Bucks. This was quickly patched, and players who received the V-Bucks had them removed.
  • Elder Scrolls is officially canon to Fortnite and by extension is linked to a great amount of collaborative franchises whose properties have made their way into the universe, including that of our own Earth, and other Bethesda properties such as the Doom Slayer from Doom. Doom (2016) itself also has a skeleton wearing the iconic Dragonborn iron helmet from Skyrim, with an arrow in its knee.
  • The Ebonheart Battleaxe actually looks like the Bloodforge battle axe, rather than the Ebonheart Pact battle axe.
