Daggerfall:Locations

Daggerfall includes over 15,000 unique locations, a massive number setting it apart from other video games. On the game map, these locations are divided into 4 broad categories: Dungeons, Homes, Temples, and Towns, each including a wide variety of places. This page describes those locations and their distribution across the 44 regions in the Iliac Bay area.

Location Composition

Most locations, both interior and exterior, are built with a limited set of 1,108 large blocks. Each block can contain a large variety of various 3D models, sprites, and various levers or triggerable objects, but cannot change the terrain, building textures, or flats (animals, flora, and rocks). Each block in cities, towns, villages, and other small settlements usually contains many buildings, from NPCs' residences to guilds, shops, and other services. For example, the northeasternmost block of Daggerfall city, only one of its 64 blocks (or one of 36 inside walls), has 16 residences, 1 tavern, 1 shop, and several 3D minor models.

Locations by Region

Note that Castle Daggerfall, Palace Sentinel, and Castle Wayrest, although constructed as dungeons, are not included as dungeons in the below table, as they are located within their respective cities and do not have distinct map markers.
